I may be from the desert, but I love the cold weather. Everything about it is wonderful to me. The warm fires on rainy days, scarves that wrap all the way up to your nose, watching the trees shed all of their leaves, a closet full of boots and thick fabric’d dresses, and the house is always smelling of comforting warm food and cookies.

One of my favorite things in the world is the color combination of blue, crisp white, tan, and gold. I swoon. And to all those people who think you can’t wear wedges with cut off shorts and without looking like a hussy- you’re wrong (or seriously judging me right now).

Casual Cutoffs.

Summer in Atlanta is my favorite time of year. Everything is vibrantly green, in the shade it is the perfect cool temperature, afternoon showers are a weekly occurrence, which leads me to… the smell of the air before a summer thunder storm, and lastly, the barbecues and outdoor activities that occur.

This has become my summer uniform. A pair of comfy cut offs + a flowy blouse top + booties + gold jewelry. It is so easy to throw on and wear, and is comfortable for nearly anything that summer throws at you.

Let me pose this question to you- can you ever have too many T-shirts and jeans? I think I can safely say, no. I find the T-shirt/denim section of my closet ever growing because there is not seasonality to them, it can be dressed up or down, they are comfy… I don’t think I have to convince you too much with this one.

Tough Girl.

Denim: J Brand / T Shirt: Old Navy / Shoes: YSL / Necklace: Sugar Bean Jewelry

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban / Watch: Vintage

I like to think I’m pretty tough. My boyfriend may tell you otherwise, as I can barely do five push ups, spiders scare me into the fetal position, and paper cuts feel like I had my finger amputated. Ok so maybe I am only tough when it comes to the denim I wear.  Throughout my countless years of denim purchasing (or as I like to call it “investing”) I have yet to own a pair that are so comfy I could sleep in them, yet still flatter the bum, that are casual enough to wear with a t-shirt, or dressy enough to throw on with a pair of sex on a stick stilettos. Then I saw this pair. Saw them. Needed them. Had to have them. They are everything I could wish for and more in a pair of jeans. Hey, they may even inspire me to kill a spider or do a push up or two.

In a rush? Sometimes you just need that go-to outfit that you can easily throw out and run out the door. This is my spring to summer transition, on-the-go, I have no idea what to wear, outfit. Easy/comfy denim + comfy spring hued shirt + casual boots + throw back aviators + a little namaste = spring perfection. I love this necklace as a constant reminder to appreciate your day’s little moments, say hi to a stranger, and to smile to everyone you pass.

Have a wonderful Monday!

What I Wore: Woody Creek Tavern.

Last night, disregarding the pouring rain and chilly temps, we made it down to Wood Creek. Woody Creek is definently one of my top favorite places for a few reasons. (1) It’s an anti-establishment and was the hangout for Hunter S. Thompson  (2) The walls are plastered with photos, autographs et al  (3) The food is great (4) Their menu literally states: “Warning: Our margaritas are strong so handle with care. Because they are strong, we do not sell them by the pitcher.”

Tip 1: Take a tomboy sweater and dress is up with a pair of heels.

Tip 2: Mix a boyfriend jean with a feminine printed pump.

Tip 3: This is one of my favorite mountain looks. A little bit of edge while warm and comfortable to walk around in. How practical.
